Harmer began with a simple idea: recruiting works better when the people doing it understand the profession.
Founder Randy Harmer started his career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen before moving into recruiting. In 1986, he co-founded the firm with a focus on accounting and finance professionals, bringing firsthand industry experience to conversations with candidates and employers.
Those early relationships became the foundation of the business. As professionals advanced in their careers, many stayed connected with Harmer, sometimes returning as hiring leaders or clients.
The firm expanded into technology recruiting in the 1990s and later developed consulting capabilities to support a broader range of workforce and business needs.
Over the decades, that foundation has grown into a multi-division talent and consulting firm serving organizations and professionals across the United States.
